Electrical System Infrastructure Manager
Vårgrønn is looking for an
Electrical System Infrastructure (ESI) Manager to take on the overall responsibility for the development and execution of the ESI packages in offshore wind projects. You will play an important role in our projects and at Vårgrønn as a whole.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Project manage the ESI package from development to execution, including detailed engineering, fabrication, logistics, installation, contract management, and hand-over to operation
- Ensure delivery meets safety, time, cost and quality standards
- Handle the ESI scope, including supplier, transport, and installation contracts
- Drive stakeholder alignment through engagement and clear communication
- Participate in business risk control, both in own scope and across the entire asset lifecycle and EPC value chain
- Participate in business case development. You will provide CAPEX and OPEX inputs for LCoE assessment
- Manage and motivate a high performing project team including engineering managers, fabrication managers, installation managers, QHSE managers, contract managers, specialists, etc.
This role will cooperate closely with both project and company representatives across a wide variety of disciplines. Main packages under the ESI Manager include subsea cables, land cables, electrical system design, HV-equipment, offshore substation, onshore substation and grid connection.
Experience and qualifications:
We are looking for someone with an education at the MSc level with experience from large offshore projects, preferably within offshore wind and oil and gas electrification. You should demonstrate a strong and holistic understanding of project development activities and deliverables, including regulatory and company requirements.
Further, you should hold strong project management skills and experience in leading multidisciplinary as well as multicultural teams. We believe the right candidate has a solid understanding of offshore wind development during the design, construction and commissioning phases, as well as an understanding of system analysis and transmission systems. This position will also be a part of the Green Volt team, a pioneering floating offshore wind project, for which Vårgrønn and Flotation Energy were awarded a UK Government Contract for Difference. The project will be a catalyst for the creation of a robust floating wind supply chain in the UK, and an essential steppingstone from current small-scale projects to gigawatt-size developments. Green Volt represents an important leap towards the 5GW floating offshore wind target the UK has set for 2030, and the benefits of Green Volt will be felt beyond the UK, being a catalyst for the development of floating wind elsewhere in Europe.
